Highlights: Primera División Argentina, Apertura 2010 - Fecha 11

Uruguayan midfielder Juan Pablo Rodríguez celebrates his goal for All Boys against Independiente.
Vélez Sársfield kept up their title chase with a 0-2 away win against the hapless Quilmes side that have still yet to win a game this season. Juan Manuel Martínez and Santiago Silva bagged a goal each to stay joint top scorers in the division with 7 goals each.

Arsenal de Sarandí stayed with Vélez on 23 points after a convincing 2-3 away win at Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata. Arsenal's first goal coming from former Gimnasia player Luciano Leguizamón.

Estudiantes dropped points after a 1-1 draw against last week's whipping boys Colón who's early goal came from their record goalscorer Esteban Fuertes, Estudiantes drew level after half an hour of the game through a Gata Fernández penalty. In the second half Estudiantes couldn't push on for the winner, but despite this slip up they still hold a three point advantage over Vélez and Arsenal.

It is beginning to look like a three horse race for the title after the rest of the chasing pack dropped points, Newell's Old Boys played out a 0-0 draw with Banfield, Godoy Cruz and River plate drew 2-2, River Plate's opening goal was a comical own goal from Leonardo Sigali.

Another game featuring a comical own goal was Olimpo's surprise 1-0 win against Lanús. Despite this win Olimpo are still deep in relegation trouble, but if they were to bag another couple of wins they could climb out of the automatic drop zone. Lanús meanwhile have virtually no chance of catching the top three after this result.

The only one of the chasing pack to win were San Lorenzo, but after losing their previous 2 games they are still 8 points from the top. Reigning champions Argentinos Juniors run of decent form came to an end at Racing Club with a 2-1 defeat and Boca Juniors put in a convincing performance to beat Huracán 2-0 at the Bombonera in a game featuring another magnificent goal from Martín Palermo.

The result of the weekend was undoubtedly newly promoted All Boys 3-1 defeat of Independiente. New Independiente manager Antonio Mohammed will now be aware of the scale of the task he has taken on, given the insipid performance of his team.
