Patricio Rodríguez vs Olimpo, Clausura 2011 Argentina
On 15 May 2011 Independiente faced a tough looking trip to Bahía Blanca to play Olimpo in the 14th round of the Clausura 2011 tournament in Argentina. The two sides were involved in the battle to avoid finishing in the relegation places and a win for Olimpo would have lifted them out of the drop zone and above River Plate and Independiente however the reds recorded only their second away win in 22 games against Argentine opposition thanks to this spectacular individual effort from man-of-the-match Patrico Rodríguez.
Marcos Litre gift
On 9 April 2011 Olimpo played Colón in Santa Fe in the ninth round of the Clausura 2011 tournament. The visitors were already one goal ahead when Marcos Litre made his first appearance of the Clausura as a second half substitute. Within one minute he found himself presented with a nearly unmissable shot after a mixup between Colón defender Juan Quiroga and goalkeeper Diego Pozo. He tapped the ball in for his first ever top flight goal to secure an impressive 0-2 away win for his club.

Boca Juniors 0-2 Olimpo, Clausura 2011

Sunday 20 March 2011 will be a day that lives long in the memories of the fans of Olimpo de Bahía Blanca. Their game against Boca Juniors was monumentally important for the small club from the Atlantic coast of Buenos Aires Province for several reasons. Not only was their 0-2 win at the once intimidating Bombonera stadium their first away win against Boca Juniors, the world's joint most successful team in international club football.
Olimpo played the better football for the majority of the match and had a perfectly good goal from Ezequiel Maggiolo disallowed before Martín Rolle put them ahead controlling the ball and striking the shot on the run. In the second half the visitors even began showboating and attempting to play Olé football. In the last few minutes of the game Juan Furch came on as a substitute and scored the "Aurinegro" a deserved second goal within a minute.
The result meant that at the end of the sixth round of games Olimpo were sitting alone at the very top of the Clausura 2011 table and also outside of the promedios relegation zone for the first time since they lost to Boca in the reverse fixture back in September.

Ezequiel Maggiolo not offside vs Boca Juniors, Clausura 2011
On 20 March 2011 Olimpo de Bahía Blanca recoreded their first ever away win against Boca Juniors with a 0-2 victory at the once intimidating Bombonera. The result saw Olimpo jump to the top of the Clausura 2011 table after Fecha 6 and escape from the relegation places for the first time since the sides met in the corresponding fixture of the Apertura back in September 2010. Had the goal not been incorrectly chalked off Maggiolo would have become the leading goalscorer of the tournament with six goals in six games.

Racing Club 4-3 Olimpo, Clausura 2011 - Partidazo
On Saturday 5 March 2011 Racing Club hosted Olimpo in the fourth round of the Clausura 2011 tournament. Both sides had the opportunity to rise to the top of the table with a win, Racing were without the creative midfield force of Gio Moreno, who looks likely to miss the rest of the season but in Teó Gutierrez they seem to have found another Colombian gem of a player.
Racing Club got off to a blistering start with three goals in the first seventeen minutes, two from Pablo Lugüercio and a brilliant team goal finished off by Lucas Licht. For the rest of the half they toyed with Olimpo, seemingly trying to walk the ball into the net or to score the perfect goal. Many experienced commentators began saying that this was the most confident Racing Club performance in years.
When Teó Gutíerrez knocked in their fourth goal within the first two minutes of the second half many people began to fear a terrible humiliation coming for the visitors from Bahía Blanca however within 11 minutes of Gutiérrez scoring the fourth Olimpo were right back in the game with two goals from Ezequiel Maggiolo and a first goal for the club from Nicolás Bianchi Arce.
Olimpo had given themselves more than half an hour to find one more goal for a famous result but Racing looked the more likely scorers with Hauche looking particularly good.

Golazo: Davíd Vega vs Banfield, Clausura 2011
In August 2010 Davíd Vega returned to the Primera División in Argentina with Olimpo de Bahía Blanca after a six year abscence playing in the lower leagues with teams such as Alumni de Villa María and Defensa y Justicia.
On 12 February 2011 in the first round of the Clausura tournament he scored one of the goals of his career with a stunning half volley to equalise against Banfield before team mate Carlos Salom hit a late winner to give Olimpo a vital 2-1 win.
Golazo: Franco Niell Olimpo vs Argentinos Juniors, Apertura 2010
Both Olimpo and Argentinos Juniors had dismal starts to the Primera División Apertura 2010 tournament. The reigning champions failed to win any of their first nine games and Olimpo found themselves in the automatic relegation place and miles from safety after a six game losing streak.
Both teams began to recover in October and by their encounter on 22 November they had the best recent form of all the teams outside the top 7 places. Olimpo dominated the game until this "chilena" from Argentinos Juniors striker Franco Niell earned the champions a point.
