Colombia

The final stages of the Colombian championship are settling down, after 3 games 4 of the top five finishers in the league stage occupy the best positions, the only surptise is the fact that 4th placed finishers Atlético Nacional are bottom of their group with only one point from 3 games so far.

Santa Fe won their midweek game 3-1 against La Equidad, their 2nd goal from Cristian Nazarit was a cracking free kick and La Equidad's consolation goal was bagged by Jhon Viáfara. They also beat Atlético Huila 2-1 on Saturday with a last minute winner from Nazarit. Winners of the regular stage of the season Deportes Tolima are in 2nd after a 2-3 away win against Atlético Huila and a 1-1 draw at home against La Equidad.

In the other group Once Caldas lead the way after consecutive 1-3 away wins against Deportes Quindio and Atlético Nacional. Quindio played some good stuff midweek and were unlucky to lose but they bounced back on Sunday with a 2-1 against Cucuta Deportivo.

Bolivia

Oriente Petrolero are the Bolivian champions for the 4th time in their history. they had virtually assured themselves of the championship with a 1-2 away win against Real Potosi on Thursday meaning that they only needed a point on Sunday to secure the championship. They got their point in a 1-1 draw against The Strongest, however 2nd placed Bolivar lost 2-0 at Blooming anyway, making the winning margin four points which disguises the fact that until the last couple of games this was a very close championship with four or five potential champions.

At the bottom of the table Jorge Wilstermann managed a surprise 1-0 win against 3rd placed Aurora to jump out of last place, leapfrogging Universitario who could only draw 1-1 with Real Mamore.

Chile

Colo-Colo's spectacular capitulation at the top of the league is almost complete after they lost 2-1 away at O'Higgins and title rivals Universidad Cátolica won 2-3 at Cobreloa with a winner late in the game from Argentine midfielder Juan Eluchans. UC now have a three point advantage going into the last game of the season.

O'Higgins win against long time leaders Colo-Colo secured their safety from relegation and Palestino reached safety too with a 3-2 win against bottom of the table and already relegated San Luis. The remaining automatic relegation place will be filled by Everton, Santiago Morning or Ñublense and the two playoff positions will be filled by the remaining two unless Santiago Morning or Ñublense can leapfrog Universidad de Concepcion or Cobreloa to safety,

Behind those two on 25 points are Peñarol who beat Central Español 2-3 and El Tanque Sisley who won 0-1 at Miramar Misiones.
