Golazo: Patric vs Internacional, Brasileirão Série A 2010



On 14 November 2010 Brazilian side Avaí faced a tough away trip to play Copa Libertadores holders Internacional. They had just been eliminated from the quarter finals of Copa Sudamericana 2010 and needed to focus on escaping from the relegation zone with only 4 games of the league season remaining. This brilliantly worked goal with a sublime finish from Patric after only 16 seconds was the perfect way to set them on their way to a vital 2-3 away win which also featured 2 more excellent goals, one for each team.

    Agreed, if they can score goals of this quality and beat the reigning South American champions on their own pitch I'm not quite sure how they are in the relegation zone.

    Unquestionably one of the greatest goals ever - superb passing, running and finishing. I'd rather see this than a 30 metre free kick any day.
