The 8 teams to contest the final stages of the Colombian championship are as follows; Deportes Tolima, Once Caldas, Santa Fe, Atlético Nacional, Deportes Quindío, Atlético Huila, Cúcuta Deportivo and La Equidad.

Deportes Tolima finished top of the table with 36 points after a 3-0 win against Atlético Nacional who finished 4th. Once Caldas joined them on 36 points with a 0-3 away win against Cortuluá.

Santa Fe finished in 3rd and they also put in a fine last day performance with a 3-0 win against Atlético Huila who finished 6th.

Both of the Cali giants missed out on the playoffs finishing 9th and 10th in the table but they both put in strong performances on the last day of the season. América won 4-0 against Boyacá Chicó and Deportivo Cali won 0-3 away at La Equidad who finished in the last playoff spot one place above them. their efforts were futile as the only team that they could have caught and overtaken Cúcuta Deportivo won away at Real Cartagena.

There were also entertaining games away from the playoff positions, bottom of the table Envigado managed a 2-2 draw with Junior and Independiente Medellín beat Millonarios 3-2.

Pablo Calandria scored to give Santiago Morning
a surprise away win against league leaders Colo-Colo.
3 weeks ago Colo-Colo had a 7 point lead over their nearest rivals and looked almost certain to win their 30th league championship. On Saturday they let the last 3 points of their lead disappear after losing 0-1 at home against 4th bottom side Santiago Morning.

The chasing pack all won Universidad Cátolica beat Huachipato 2-0, Universidad de Chile won 0-3 away at San Luis and Audax Italiano kept their feint title hopes alive with a 2-5 away win against Palestino.

Despite a 1-1 draw against Barcelona Sporting Club, leaders LDU Quito extended their lead at the top to 5 points with a game in hand after their nearest rivals Deportivo Cuenca lost 0-2 at home to 2nd bottom side Macará, the away team's 2nd goal was a rather special effort from his own half by Luis Caicedo. Emelec are now only one point behind them in 3rd after a 1-2 away win against Manta.

The Montevideo derby between Nacional and Peñarol failed to live up to expectations, ending in a 0-0 draw. Defensor Sporting Club are on 24 points and still 2 points clear at the top ahead of four other teams, after a 1-1 draw with Central Español.

The chasing pack on 22 points is made up of Danubio, Peñarol, Bella Vista and El Tanque Sisley.

Danubio won their 3rd consecutive game with a 2-0 win against Racing Club, Bella Vista are also on a 3 game winning streak after beating Miramar Misiones 3-2 and the dream is still alive for newly promoted El Tanque Sisley who won 1-2 away from home against River Plate.

Libertad extended their lead at the top of the table to 4 points after a 2-0 win against 2nd placed Cerro Porteño.

Tres de Febrero are now one of the form teams in the division after hammering 3rd placed Guaraní 4-0.

Caracas FC finally put an end to Real Esppor's 5 game winning streak with a 1-2 win. They could jump into 2nd place if they win their game in hand because 2nd placed Deportivo Táchira dropped two points in a 0-0 draw away at 2nd bottom side Atlético El Vigía.

Not a single side has managed two wins in a row in the Peruvian top flight and only 3 teams are unbeaten in their last 3 games including Cienciano who are bottom of group B.

In group A Universidad San Martín lost for only the second time this season going down to a 1-0 defeat against Universitario who are now in 2nd place. USM are still 8 points clear at the top after the rest of the chasing pack dropped points either during the midweek round of fixtures or at the weekend. Inti Gas recovered from a 1-3 home defeat to Sporting Cristal to hammer José Galvez 6-0 on Saturday.

León de Huancayo and Juan Aurich seem to be pulling away at the top of group B. León won 3-1 against Alianza Atlético with two nice goals from Gustavo Rodas and Aurich beat Melgar 2-0.

In Bolivia the big winners of the weekend were Oriente Petrolero who didn't even play, they are joint top with a game in hand. Bolívar joined them on 33 points after a 0-1 away win against San José who had been in 2nd place. Aurora slipped from 3rd down to 4th after they lost 2-0 away at Universitario who had been bottom of the table at the start of play.

Real Potosí in 5th failed to take advantage of two of the teams above them dropping points, they could only draw 1-1 at Jorge Wilstermann who are now bottom of the league.
